A few things to know before you lock in.
When am I charged?
Your financial stake is charged only for an active day you haven’t marked complete before its deadline, not when you lock in. This private test uses test cards only; Premium subscription billing is not active.
What happens if my card is declined?
Mate records the failed payment and notifies you. A payment is only marked successful once it actually succeeds.
Can I change or cancel a commitment after locking it in?
You cannot change or cancel a locked commitment through the app. For cancellation or payment questions, contact oleksiy@valiantpartners.com; your applicable consumer rights still apply.
What happens if I miss a day?
A missed active day triggers your authorised financial stake. Your remaining active days continue, and you can return using the same private link.
How do text and email consequences work?
You can currently select text/email recipients and review them before locking in. Automatic delivery is not connected in this private test, so commitments with these consequences cannot be locked yet.
How do I mark my commitment complete?
Open your private commitment link and mark the active day complete before its deadline. Doing the task alone does not record completion, and future days cannot be completed early.
Can I choose just a few days each week?
Yes. Choose your duration, then select specific weekdays or individual dates in the calendar. Unselected dates require no check-in and carry no charge.
Does Mate store my card details?
Your card details are handled securely by Stripe. Mate does not store your full card number or CVV.
What happens if I complete my commitment just before the deadline?
It counts as complete if your check-in reaches our server before the deadline, and that day’s consequence is not triggered. Completing the task without checking in does not count.
Can I cancel Premium?
Premium subscriptions and cancellation are not live in this private test. Choosing Premium does not currently start a subscription or a recurring charge.
